Fighting Fatigue on the Otter Diet
Feel Tired And Lethargic After Eating?
If you tested out to be an Otter and you are tired after eating, that could
mean that you ate too much of the foods that you should be
practicing
moderation on!
Here is a common list of foods that Otters need to eat in moderation,
that means 1) in correct portion sizes and 2) in correct proportions - 2
parts protein, 1 part fat, 1 part carb.
PASTAS
Doesn't matter what type of pasta whole wheat, white flour, Kamut,
green pasta, blue pasta, yellow pasta. Pastas will make you tired if you
eat too much of it. Your diet is two parts protein, 1 part fat, 1 part carb.
Pastas can be a side dish, but not an entree.
BREADS
Whole wheat, whole grain, rye, buckwheat, LO CARB. You can't eat a
lot of it and expect to have energy. Don't be fooled by Lo-Carb breads, eat
it, you will be tired.
SUGARY FOODS
Well of course, but some people think granola bars, yogurts,
meats covered in bar-b-que sauces and glazes are Otter allowable.
Common
sense should tell you two ounces of meat with one ounce of sugar glaze, while
in proportion is not going to be a good thing for your health. If you want
to avoid sitting on the couch for a few hours, avoid the sugar!
FRUITS
Raisins, bananas, apples, grapefruits, oranges. Moderation, moderation,
moderation. A big fruit salad is going to send you right for a nap. Stir
frys make amble use of small portions of fruits, you can too, add small portions
of fruits to your meat dishes. That is SMALL portions.
GRAINS
Long rice, white rice, brown rice, oats, barley....in moderation, okay,
over do it, and there goes your energy!
BEER & ALCOHOL
Enough said.
MODERATION
Eating meals
with carbs should be special occasion foods
and not meal staples. Otters can only pull 25% of their diet from carbs.
Practice Carb moderation and pretty soon it will become something you don't
even think about but something you do. Our carbs of choice remain organic
vegetables.
