Fighting Fatigue on the Monkey Diet

Trouble Getting Out of Bed in the Morning?

If you’re a Monkey and getting up in the morning seems to be a daily struggle, then it’s time to examine when and what you ate last. When you wake up feeling drained and sluggish, you need to think about yesterday’s food choices. If you had a big steak last night or some other protein based dinner you may have found the reason why.

High fat and protein foods should not be the basis of any Monkey meals. This will deplete your energy and leave you not feeling your best. Unfortunately we don’t wake up each morning with a clean slate and get to start over from scratch, at least not when it comes to your nutrition. What you ate the day before will stick with you for a little while.

Monkey meals should be high in complex carbs, including whole grains and vegetables. That’s the easiest way to give yourself the best chance possible of having an energetic day!

On top of that, it’s not just what you ate for dinner, but when you last ate before going to bed.

Monkeys may have a tendency towards eating very few times through out the day in order to keep up their energy. That’s fine when it works for you. But if you are someone who eats an early dinner, let’s say 5 or 5:30 at night, you may not be able to go until 6 or 7 in the morning with nothing else to eat. If you are finding that it’s really hard for you to get out of bed in morning, try having a little something to eat about 2 hours before bed to see if it helps. Make sure it fits into the Monkey Diet guidelines, such as a piece of toast with jam or a tiny bit of peanut butter, a piece of fruit, or some whole grain crackers. That just might be the simple answer you’re looking for.

Remember if you want to start each day out right, you have to eat right for your Diet Type the day before!
